If you’ve got an idea for a piece of connected hardware, we can help you design a custom circuit board (PCB) to bring it to life.
A lot of projects start out on a development board like an ESP32. These are useful for testing an idea, but they include parts you don’t need and leave out others you do. A custom board includes only what your product requires: the right sensors, connections, and power. That makes it smaller, more reliable, and easier to fit into a proper enclosure.
Getting boards physically made is the easy bit these days. Plenty of online companies will produce and post them to you quickly and cheaply. The catch is that they can only make what you send them. So the design is the part that really takes some thought, and that’s where we can help. We start with the problem. That means looking at what the device needs to do, where it’ll go, how it’s powered, and how it connects to your other systems. From there we work towards a tested design that’s ready to be sent off and made. We can add a 3D-printed enclosure too, so you end up with something you can actually hold.
It’s worth knowing that a working design is one thing, but a finished product usually needs proper safety testing before it can be used or sold. That’s a separate step, and it’s worth planning for early, but we can always point you in the right direction.
You don’t need to be a hardware company to make use of this. We often work with businesses who have a clear idea of something they’d like to monitor, automate, or connect, but no easy way to turn it into a real product. So if that sounds like you, now you know. We’d be happy to help you get from a rough idea to a working design. Fancy a chat? We’re always happy to talk it through.
